Disturbing? This digital world has always just been a fake, shitty, sims version of reality. How can anyone confuse this dead black box with one made in the image of the Living Creator God?
I feel like this epiphany should be something to celebrate not be disturbed by. The internet is just a tool, a way to communicate. We should feel extremely relieved that our “identity” and the truth of who we are cannot possibly be contained or defined in such a shallow, finite way.
Regarding our shadow. I was or I did, does not mean I AM. Jesus is the life, the truth, and the way. If God forgives us, who are we not to forgive ourselves too? Are we wiser than he? No. So if god says our sins our forgiven, we should also forgive ourselves and no longer be troubled. It doesn’t matter how many times we fail, what matters is that we admit “it happened, it sucked, tomorrow I’m going to do better”. And if I fail again, I try again. Until one day we get it right.
